Elevating Real Estate Sales: My 2024 Goals and Outlook

Happy New Year! Can you believe it’s 2024?!

If the past few years have taught us anything, it is to prepare for the unexpected. The real estate industry has experienced many ups and downs over the past few years, and the ripple effects of these fluctuations have influenced many of my resolutions, both personally and for my sales team.

Before diving into my team’s goals for this year, let’s talk about my broader vision for the  real estate industry in 2024.

In my opinion, transparency is key. It’s time we prioritize openness to foster mentorship opportunities and purposeful marketing. While competition is a given, collaboration can be a game-changer, especially in real estate! And in that vein of transparency, I would love to see agents regain sway over sellers and their selling price, helping to align expectations realistically in this market—and lead to more efficient sales. Agent or not, let this be a year of building relationships grounded in practicality and honesty with our clients.

The 2024 real estate landscape looks to be as unpredictable as 2023, which means our resolutions cannot just be about hitting benchmarks. Instead, I plan on adapting and refining skills and guiding my team toward success. My approach goes beyond traditional goals: focusing on skill enhancement, intentional engagement, and supportive leadership for a balanced strategy.

How do I plan to achieve this?

As a leader, I start the year by having my team create individual business plans and pitch them to me. I usually have a target in mind for each member, but I value seeing where they aim. My goal for them is always a bit higher than what they set for themselves—if a goal doesn’t provoke a bit of fear, it’s not ambitious enough, and that surprising number helps instill this mindset in my team. Throughout the year we collaborate closely to strategize and conquer these goals by tracking KPIs and having honest feedback with one another. I will never get tired of witnessing my sales team surpassing their ambitious sales goals each year!

In the coming year, my team’s priority is refining technical skills. While staying updated with AI and cutting-edge CRMs is crucial, I want to go beyond technology. I aim for a nuanced skill enhancement, nurturing intentional client conversations and honing sales abilities. Understanding individual strengths and weaknesses is key, which is why I am also focusing on investing time in each of our markets, approaching cold calls purposefully rather than as part of a routine. This strategy aims to build a more intentional and targeted approach, benefiting both team dynamics and individual contributions, enabling sales success across a variety of market conditions.

This year is all about having a glass-half-full mentality, especially if you are a leader.

There are many factors at play in the market and economy, and the media will always sensationalize them. My approach has always been to speak candidly with my team about current obstacles in the market and set goals and resolutions that continue to hone my teammates’ and my skill set to help us adapt and succeed no matter what the year brings us.
